I’ve never been much of a dreamer, not when sleeping anyway. If I do happen to remember my dreams, they tend to feature people I know doing fairly ordinary things. Real life, however, often catches me out and it has never surprised me more than the events of the last year. It was a surprise of the finest kind when Judith and Poppy applied to join Wise Children and I am still pinching myself to believe that this extraordinary opportunity has come my way. Their experience at Complicité, the company that has inspired me more than any other, is stellar. They are fierce in their passion and knowledge, yet exhilaratingly flexible in their ability to imagine different ways of working. They are curious and knowledgable, fearless and ambitious, thoughtful and creative. I feel my artistic spirits lift when we talk and the ideas start to flow in the secure knowledge that these exceptional women will be able to turn these dreams into a reality. We are all ready to make something truly special happen; we are eager and able, and you can feel the excitement building.
I am not asleep, far from it, but I am walking through my dreams. This is a new beginning and I now have the finest of fellow adventurers by my side. Sometimes, life is indeed a dream.

Judith Dimant and Poppy Keeling will join Emma Rice to lead Wise Children, with Poppy taking up her role as Executive Producer in the new year and Judith as Executive Director later in the spring. Both join Wise Children from Complicité.
